Eight Israeli Soldiers Injured in Suspected Car-Ramming Attack

Two soldiers moderately injured and six lightly injured in attack near Kfar Yona; driver flees the scene.
KFAR YONA: The Israeli military reported that eight soldiers were wounded on Thursday following a car-ramming incident at the Beit Lid junction near Kfar Yona, which police have characterized as a 'terror attack.' Two soldiers sustained moderate injuries, while six others suffered light injuries.

The soldiers were promptly evacuated to receive medical treatment, with their families notified of the incident.

The attack occurred amid an ongoing surge in violence within Israel and the occupied West Bank since the outbreak of hostilities against Hamas in Gaza, initiated by a Palestinian militant strike on October 7, 2023.

In March of this year, a teenager lost life when, according to police, a Palestinian driver deliberately crashed into civilians at a bus stop in northern Israel.

A witness, Kineret Hanuka, described the harrowing scene where the car veered towards the bus stop, striking multiple individuals with great speed and force.

Israeli emergency responders from Magen David Adom (MDA) responded to the incident around 9:25 AM, noting chest, limb, and head injuries among the victims.

Police have labeled this an act of terrorism, detailing efforts to locate the driver who abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene.

The ensuing pursuit involved extensive police resources including helicopters, motorcycles, and canine units.

The crash site was secured by police as forensic investigations commenced.

According to official figures tallied by AFP, at least 32 individuals, including soldiers, have lost their lives in attacks by Palestinians since the Gaza war began.

In the West Bank, at least 960 Palestinians—comprising fighters and civilians alike—have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers since 1967, per Palestinian Authority records.

Concurrently, at least 36 Israelis—encompassing both soldiers and civilians—have fallen victim to Palestinian attacks or have died during Israeli military operations.
