The Israeli military has issued an urgent warning to residents of a village in southern Lebanon, urging them to evacuate immediately due to ongoing operations targeting Hezbollah.
The Israeli military on Friday warned residents of the village of Deir Aames in southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes immediately.
This warning marks the first such instruction since US President
Donald Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire in the region.
According to the military's Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee, the operation is a response to heightened terrorist activity by Hezbollah in the area.
Adraee emphasized that for safety reasons, residents should move at least 1,000 meters away from their homes and evacuate the area promptly.
Deir Aames is situated north of the so-called 'Yellow Line' in Lebanon, an area south of which Israeli forces have been operating despite the ongoing ceasefire.
The development has raised concerns about potential escalations along Israel's northern borders.
Both sides have been on edge since Trump's announcement regarding the extension of the ceasefire, which was initially declared to last for a limited period but has now been extended further due to continued tensions.
The Israeli military's actions highlight the ongoing challenges in maintaining peace and stability in the region, particularly with regard to the activities of militant groups such as Hezbollah.
