At least 24 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured in an Israeli airstrike near a humanitarian aid distribution site in Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The incident occurred on June 3, 2025, in the Al-Alam area, where displaced residents had gathered to receive essential supplies following months of blockade.

The aid distribution was organized by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an entity that operates with support from Israel and the United States, which began its operations in Gaza on May 27, 2025.

As per reports, many of the injured individuals are in critical condition, with the death toll expected to rise.

Concurrently, the Israeli army reported the deaths of three of its soldiers in combat operations in northern Gaza.

The deceased soldiers were identified as St.-Sgt. Lior Steinberg, St.-Sgt. Ofek Barhana, and St.-Sgt. Omer Van Gelder, all members of the 9th Battalion of the Givati Brigade.

The events have occurred amid an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where access to essential services and supplies has been severely restricted due to the sustained blockade.
