In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the victims' families and announced an ex gratia payment of ₹2 lakh (approximately $2,400) for the relatives of those who lost their lives.
Additionally, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has committed to providing compensation to the affected families.
