Iran's Leadership Vows Severe Retaliation Against Israel Following Airstrikes

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei announces the deaths of Iranian leaders due to Israeli strikes, pledging significant consequences for Israel and asserting the nation's right to self-defense.
Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, confirmed the deaths of several key military leaders and scientists as a result of Israeli airstrikes carried out early on June 13, 2025. Khamenei warned that Israel would face dire repercussions for its actions, stating, 'The Zionist entity will undoubtedly receive a bitter and painful fate for this crime.'

In the wake of these developments, the spokesperson for the Iranian General Staff declared that both the United States and Israel would 'pay the price' for their actions, emphasizing a commitment to a robust response to Israeli aggressions.

The Iranian military has reiterated its intention to retaliate strongly against the recent aerial assaults.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry held the United States, as an ally of Israel, accountable for the ramifications of the attacks, asserting in a statement that 'the aggressive steps taken by the Zionist entity could not have occurred without coordination and permission from the United States.' The ministry emphasized that Washington bears responsibility for the dangerous impacts and consequences of Israeli actions.

Iran has asserted its 'legitimate legal right' to respond to these Israeli strikes, referencing Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

The Iranian armed forces conveyed their determination to defend the nation with all available capabilities.

In a related development, the Israeli military's radio stated that assessments provided to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested a potential Iranian response could occur within hours of the ongoing Israeli operations, which targeted numerous Iranian sites and resulted in the assassination of senior military figures and nuclear scientists.

According to the Israeli military, the initial Iranian retaliation is expected to involve the launch of hundreds of ballistic missiles towards Israel.

In anticipation of this, Israel's Home Front Command has advised residents to remain near shelters at all times.

Reports indicate that Tel Aviv is preparing for an Iranian counter-strike within a two-hour timeframe.

An Israeli military official indicated that if civilians comply with directives, casualties could be minimized.

The Israeli government has called for readiness against potential Iranian aggression, emphasizing that the threat is a cost they are willing to bear to prevent Iran from developing nuclear capabilities.

The Israeli military has initiated what it terms Operation Rising Lion against Iran, starting with airstrikes involving dozens of aircraft.

Following the commencement of the Israeli offensive, reports emerged of senior Israeli officials being relocated to secure locations in light of foiled assassination attempts against high-ranking Iranian leaders.

Additionally, the Israeli military announced the closure of Israeli airspace 'until further notice.' Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared a state of emergency, anticipating that Israel and its civilian population would soon face missile and drone strikes as a consequence of the preemptive action taken against Iran.
