Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Result in 39 Fatalities Amid Ongoing Military Operations

Intensified bombardment leads to casualties among displaced civilians as hostilities continue.
Medical sources have reported at least 39 Palestinians have died due to Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since the early hours of Monday.

Air raids resumed in the evening after a brief pause during which Israeli soldier Aidan Alexander, a dual American-Israeli citizen, was released after being held captive.

Israeli fighter jets were observed flying at low altitudes over the Gaza Strip on Monday evening.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) targeted the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City with artillery strikes, specifically hitting the al-Tuffah and al-Shuja'iyya areas.

Moreover, an educational building housing displaced persons in the al-Darrij neighborhood, east of Gaza City, was bombed, resulting in the death of a Palestinian woman and injuries to others.

Earlier in the day, two airstrikes on a school sheltering displaced individuals in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza led to the deaths of 15 people.

In the al-Zeitoun neighborhood in the southeastern part of Gaza City, two Palestinians were killed by Israeli drone fire, with additional injuries reported from a subsequent strike on the 'Star Hall' area in the same neighborhood.

Continuous targeting of al-Shuja'iyya has marked the last 47 days of military operations, with reports indicating that the IDF has engaged in artillery bombardments and gunfire against civilians searching for food and water.

Further south, reports confirmed that three Palestinians died and others were injured due to Israeli strikes on a tent sheltering displaced individuals in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.

Artillery fire also targeted southern Khan Younis, alongside aerial bombardments in northern Rafah.

Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza have intensified following its withdrawal from a ceasefire agreement established in January 2025. Humanitarian access has been severely restricted, as food and medical supplies have been prevented from entering the region since March 2, despite warnings from international organizations regarding the escalating risk of starvation.

Since the onset of hostilities in October 2023, the health ministry in Gaza has reported 52,862 fatalities and 119,648 injuries, with a significant proportion of casualties comprising women and children.
