Israeli Military Escalates Actions in Occupied West Bank, Displacing Residents of Tulkarem

Intensified operations in Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camp lead to forced evacuations and increased casualties.
The Israeli military has escalated operations in the occupied West Bank, conducting raids in multiple towns and forcing residents of the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem to evacuate their homes.

According to local sources, the military's actions in Tulkarem and its refugee camps have continued for 65 consecutive days, with the ongoing assault on Nur Shams extending for 52 days.

The official Palestinian news agency reported that the Israeli forces deployed additional military reinforcements towards Nur Shams as part of an ongoing campaign targeting the area.

Witnesses indicated that Israeli soldiers forcibly displaced residents from the Al-Salihain neighborhood of the camp late last night.

Reports cited by the agency highlight the systematic nature of the Israeli military operations, which include extensive searches and raids on homes and buildings within Nur Shams.

Additionally, it was noted that the Israeli military opened fire in the slaughterhouse alley of the camp, with no injuries reported.

The military has been effectively tightening its siege on the camp while simultaneously conducting incursions with armored vehicles and infantry units into the streets.

There have been numerous accounts of damage to homes and infrastructure, with reports of homes being burned and demolished as the assaults continue.

In the Tulkarem camp, the Israeli forces have maintained a heavy presence, leading to significant depopulation of the camp as families flee.

According to reports, the military has completely destroyed the camp's infrastructure and caused extensive damage to its buildings.

Early on Tuesday, the Israeli military raided a home in the southern neighborhood of Tulkarem, searching and damaging its contents.

An Israeli security checkpoint was also reportedly established near the southern entrance of the city, where vehicles were subjected to searches and restrictions were intensified during the festive period.

The ongoing assault in Tulkarem and its camps has resulted in the deaths of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was pregnant.

Additional reports indicate that dozens have been injured or arrested as a direct consequence of the military actions.

The military offensives have led to the forced displacement of over 4,000 families from both refugee camps, as well as several families from the northern neighborhood of Tulkarem, where homes have been commandeered for military use.

Approximately 396 homes have been completely destroyed, while 2,573 houses have sustained partial damage in the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps.

In Jenin, the media committee of the Jenin camp reported that the humanitarian conditions for 21,000 displaced individuals are worsening amid the continuing Israeli offensive, which has persisted for 71 consecutive days.

Since January 21, Israel has conducted military operations in the Jenin and Tulkarem governorates in northern occupied West Bank, involving targeted killings and widespread arrests of Palestinians.

Many families have been subjected to interrogations, with numerous homes converted into military outposts.
