Netanyahu Calls on Iranians to Unite Against 'Evil Regime' Amid Escalating Military Operations

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announces significant military action against Iran, asserting unprecedented scale and intent.
In a video address to the Iranian people, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged citizens to unite against what he termed the 'repressive and evil regime' of Iran.

This statement comes in the wake of Israel's recent military strikes that targeted over 200 military and nuclear sites across Iran, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between the two nations.

Netanyahu characterized the operation as 'one of the largest military operations in history', referencing what he called Operation 'Rising Lion'.

He expressed solidarity with the Iranian populace, stating, 'It is time for the Iranian people to rally around their flag and historical heritage and rise up for your liberation from the oppressive and evil regime.' He emphasized Israel's commitment to destroying critical components of Iran's military capabilities, including nuclear facilities and missile stockpiles.

In the aftermath of the attacks, Netanyahu stated that significant Iranian military leaders, key nuclear scientists, and much of the country's uranium enrichment capability had been neutralized.

He warned of continued operations, claiming, 'What has happened to the Iranian regime is unprecedented, and it has never been weaker.'

Earlier in the day, Netanyahu confirmed that the United States had been informed of Israel's plans prior to the execution of the military strikes.

He remarked, 'I will leave the American position to the Americans.

We informed them in advance.

They were aware of the attack.

What they will do now, I leave to President Trump.' Netanyahu commended Trump for his strong stance against Iran's nuclear ambitions, referring to the U.S. President's consistent assertion that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons or uranium enrichment capabilities.

Anticipating a response, Netanyahu expressed caution regarding expected Iranian reprisals.

He predicted that Israel might face 'several waves of Iranian attacks' following the military actions.

He also noted that the decision to target Iran's nuclear program was deliberate and had been in the making since November 2024, with operations planned for execution by April 2025, which faced delays due to various reasons.

President Trump confirmed in an interview that his administration was aware of Israel's plans for the military operation against Iran.

In response to inquiries about the notification given to the U.S. regarding the attack, Trump indicated that while it wasn't a formal notification, they were informed of the developments.

Netanyahu's office released a statement indicating that the Prime Minister conducted talks with multiple world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, following the strikes.

The statement highlighted that these leaders expressed an understanding of Israel’s defensive requirements amidst perceived Iranian threats.

Israeli forces executed air strikes targeting military officials in Iran, including the Chief of Staff, the head of the Revolutionary Guards, and the Commander of the Air and Space Forces of the Revolutionary Guards, alongside nuclear facilities.

These actions have drawn considerable international attention and have raised concerns regarding the implications for regional stability.
