An Iranian Health Ministry official disclosed on Monday that the injuries sustained by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in the US-Israeli strikes late last February were merely 'superficial.' This revelation offers a rare glimpse into the circumstances surrounding his wounds, which have fueled speculation about his health and public absence since being named as Iran's supreme leader on March 8.
He has only issued written statements to the public, leading many to question his condition.
Khamenei, aged 56, succeeded his father, Ali Khamenei, who was tragically killed in the US-Israeli strikes on February 28.

The Health Ministry's spokesperson, Hossein Kermanpour, detailed Mojtaba's arrival at an unnamed hospital on the day of the incident.
He entered the operating room around 1 p.m. Tehran time and was treated for minor injuries to his face, head, and legs, which did not require any serious medical procedures or amputations.
Kermanpour noted that Khamenei remained fasting during the holy month of Ramadan until nightfall, even while receiving treatment.
Further corroborating his relatively light condition, Kermanpour mentioned that Khamenei was discharged from the hospital at around 2:00 a.m. on March 1 and was able to fast throughout the night until iftar.
