Israeli Strikes Kill Six in Gaza, Including Hamas Official's Son

Violence persists despite October ceasefire; over 837 Palestinians killed since truce began.
Gaza health officials reported that Israeli strikes killed six individuals across the Palestinian territory on Wednesday, resulting in several others injured, including the son of Hamas's chief negotiator.

A senior officer within the Hamas-run Interior Ministry was also among those killed.

The ongoing daily violence in Gaza continues, with Israeli strikes persisting despite an October ceasefire.

Both the military and Hamas accuse each other of violating the truce.

The civil defense agency, operating under Hamas as a rescue service, stated that five individuals have been killed since early morning due to Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip.

Gaza City's Al-Ahli hospital reported receiving three dead and several wounded following an Israeli drone strike in the Zeitoun neighborhood, located southeast of Gaza City.

Another strike occurred in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, killing one person and injuring ten others, including Azzam Khalil Al-Hayya, the son of Hamas's chief negotiator Khalil Al-Hayya.

Two additional individuals were killed, with over a dozen more injured in Israeli attacks across other regions of the territory.

Medics confirmed that Naseem Al-Kalazani, a colonel in the Hamas-run police force, was killed when his vehicle was targeted near the Al-Mawasi area in western Khan Younis, situated in the south of the enclave.

The current ceasefire has largely halted the Gaza war initiated by Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.

However, violence has persisted, with at least 837 Palestinians killed since the truce began, according to Gaza's health ministry, which operates under Hamas authority and is considered reliable by the United Nations.

Over the same period, the Israeli military reported five soldiers killed in Gaza.

Gaza health authorities have recorded more than 72,500 Palestinian deaths since the war commenced in October 2023, with most of them being civilians.
