An incident in the Tibat area of Bukha results in injuries and damages, amid ongoing regional tensions.
MUSCAT — Two individuals sustained injuries following an attack on a residential building in Bukha, Oman, along the Strait of Hormuz's coast, as reported by state media on Monday.
According to the Oman News Agency, a security source indicated that a building housing employees from a company in the Tibat area of Bukha was targeted, causing moderate injuries to two expatriates and inflicting damage on four vehicles, with a nearby house also sustaining broken glass.
This incident comes shortly after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was attacked by Iran for the first time since a fragile ceasefire began in early April.
The attacks against the UAE appeared to be responses to recent efforts by U.S. President
Donald Trump aimed at re-opening the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway for global energy transit.
The UAE's Defense Ministry confirmed that Iran launched four cruise missiles, with three being intercepted and one falling into the sea.
Additionally, an Iranian drone attack on a key oil facility in Fujairah sparked a fire, resulting in injuries to three Indian nationals.
The British military also reported two cargo vessels experiencing fires off the coast of the UAE.
These incidents occurred following the U.S. military's announcement that two American-flagged merchant ships had successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz under a new initiative aimed at restoring traffic flow on Monday.
Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, highlighted that American forces have secured passage through the strait and had sunk six Iranian small boats targeting civilian vessels.
He emphasized that Iran has launched multiple cruise missiles, drones, and small boats against ships protected by the U.S. military, all of which were effectively countered.
