Lucid Plans Faster Delivery of Fifty-Thousand-Vehicle Saudi Order With New Midsize Model

Chief executive says production for the Kingdom will accelerate from twenty-twenty-seven as Lucid prepares to launch a more affordable midsize electric vehicle
Lucid Group’s chief executive has said deliveries tied to the company’s fifty-thousand-vehicle supply agreement with Saudi Arabia are expected to accelerate from twenty-twenty-seven, coinciding with the launch of a new midsize electric vehicle designed to broaden the brand’s reach.

The comments highlight Saudi Arabia’s growing role in Lucid’s long-term strategy as the company moves beyond its premium sedan lineup toward higher-volume production.

The Saudi order, agreed as part of a wider partnership with the Kingdom, commits Lucid to supply up to fifty thousand electric vehicles over several years, primarily for government and institutional use.

According to the company’s leadership, current deliveries remain modest as Lucid focuses on refining production and controlling costs, but volumes are projected to rise meaningfully once the midsize platform enters manufacturing.

The forthcoming midsize model is positioned as a critical step for Lucid, offering a lower price point and broader appeal compared with its existing luxury vehicles.

Executives have indicated that the model is intended to support scale, improve margins over time and unlock demand from fleet and public-sector buyers, including those in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia, through its Public Investment Fund, is Lucid’s largest shareholder and has played a central role in supporting the company’s expansion, including the development of Lucid’s manufacturing presence in the Kingdom.

The accelerating order from twenty-twenty-seven aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to advance electric mobility, diversify its industrial base and reduce transport emissions.

Lucid’s leadership said the phased nature of the Saudi agreement provides flexibility while allowing both sides to align vehicle supply with market readiness and infrastructure development.

The expected ramp-up underscores confidence that the midsize launch will mark a turning point for the company’s production volumes and its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia.
