King Abdullah II of Jordan arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan, for meetings with local officials.

During his visit, the monarch met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday to further bolster bilateral ties between their nations.

The Jordan News Agency reported that the two leaders discussed expanding cooperation across several domains, including trade, economy, investment, tourism, education, technology, and defense.

Their conversation covered both regional challenges and international diplomatic efforts.

King Abdullah II emphasized the importance of continued coordination in pursuit of peace and stability in the Middle East.

He also expressed sympathy for Pakistan following recent terrorist attacks, reaffirming Jordan's commitment to combating terrorism.

The situation in Gaza was another central topic of discussion, with an emphasis on upholding the ceasefire and facilitating humanitarian aid.

The king highlighted Pakistan's role within international organizations such as the United Nations Security Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, praising its efforts towards maintaining a truce.

Additionally, King Abdullah II urged vigilance against unilateral actions in the West Bank, advocating for the preservation of holy sites and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state through the two-state solution.

Prime Minister Sharif reciprocated by affirming Pakistan's dedication to enhancing collaboration with Jordan, expecting his guest's visit to enhance bilateral relations.

Several agreements were signed during the meeting, including a partnership between the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTC) and the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, as well as an agreement between the Pakistan Television Corporation.

A memorandum of understanding was exchanged to establish a chair for Urdu language and Pakistani studies at the University of Jordan, alongside a cultural cooperation program.
