HUMAIN and DataVolt Forge Multi-Gigawatt AI Data-Center Partnership in Saudi Arabia

Saudi-backed AI firm teams with infrastructure specialist to build next-generation computing campuses as Kingdom accelerates digital-transformation drive
Saudi Arabia’s AI-driven national company HUMAIN and data-centre infrastructure developer DataVolt yesterday announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop multi-gigawatt data-centres designed to power large-scale artificial-intelligence workloads in the Kingdom.

The agreement marks a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s aim to become a global hub for AI training, inference and cloud computing.

In their joint statement, the companies emphasised that sustainability and operational performance would be cornerstones of the campus rollout, citing innovations in energy-efficiency, advanced cooling systems and integrated design to handle the mounting global compute demand.

HUMAIN Chief Executive Officer Tareq Amin stated: “By combining HUMAIN’s end-to-end AI expertise with DataVolt’s sustainable infrastructure capabilities, we’re building the foundation for a new era of intelligent computing at a lower cost of compute.” DataVolt CEO Rajit Nanda added: “We are excited to work with HUMAIN to support the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global destination for AI training and inferencing.”

The partnership builds on HUMAIN’s earlier disclosures that it plans to deploy some six gigawatts of data-centre capacity by 2034 and has already initiated construction on two 100-megawatt-class facilities in Riyadh and Dammam.

Industry commentary links the new collaboration with a broader push under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to diversify the economy and anchor high-performance computing as an export-capable industrial sector.

Under the agreement, HUMAIN will leverage its AI ecosystem credentials and existing technology deals—including with global chip- makers and cloud providers—while DataVolt will lead on campus design, procurement, build-out and operations, working to meet international standards in power usage effectiveness, modular scalability and sustainability.

Together they aim to deliver scalable computing estates for both government- and commercial-AI workloads, with localisation of infrastructure and global market integration in mind.

The move reflects Saudi Arabia’s recognition that compute infrastructure is becoming a strategic national asset, especially as demand for AI training and inference grows rapidly.

By mobilising capital, talent and strategic partnerships, the country seeks to anchor the next generation of AI value chains domestically rather than rely solely on assembly or hosting.

The HUMAIN-DataVolt alliance underscores that ambition and signals that Saudi Arabia is positioning itself not just as a user of AI infrastructure but as a builder and exporter of compute resources to the world.
