Two individuals lose their lives following Israeli strikes targeting alleged Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon.
BEIRUT: On Thursday, a series of Israeli strikes in south Lebanon resulted in the deaths of two individuals, as confirmed by the Lebanese health ministry.
The fatalities occurred after an Israeli drone strike targeted a bulldozer, fatally wounding its operator, and another individual died from injuries sustained during a motorcycle strike.
According to the official National News Agency, these incidents are attributed to ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.
The Israeli military has stated that their operations aimed to eliminate key members of Hezbollah's Radwan Force and its observation force in the Baraasheet area.
This escalation of strikes follows a ceasefire agreement reached on November 27 last year, intended to end over a year-long conflict that significantly weakened Hezbollah.
Under this agreement, Hezbollah was required to withdraw its fighters north of the Litani river, approximately 20 miles from the Israeli border.
However, Israel has maintained a military presence in five strategic locations within southern Lebanon despite their official withdrawal.
Additionally, on Tuesday, three individuals were reported killed in an Israeli strike targeting a vehicle in the Nabatiyeh district.
The Israeli military claimed that the targeted individual was involved in transferring funds for Hezbollah's 'terrorist activities.' These recent developments highlight the ongoing tensions and violations of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
