Israeli Airstrikes Target Syrian Military Sites in Daraa

Israeli Airstrikes Target Syrian Military Sites in Daraa

Recent airstrikes hit key military positions in southern Syria amid ongoing regional tensions.
On March 10, 2025, Israeli aircraft conducted airstrikes on multiple military targets belonging to the Syrian army in the Daraa region of southern Syria.

Reports indicate that these airstrikes specifically targeted the 89th Regiment in the town of Jbab, as well as weapons depots associated with the 12th Brigade near the city of Izraa.

The strikes reportedly included at least six attacks on the Jbab base and eight on military sites in Izraa.

Observations from regional news sources noted additional airstrikes on observation platforms and tanks positioned north of Daraa.

The Syrian state news agency, SANA, confirmed that Israeli jets struck around the Daraa province with multiple aerial assaults, emphasizing the ongoing military activity in the region.

Despite the scale of the attacks, there were no immediate reports of casualties or injuries.

These incidents mark a continuation of Israel's military operations in Syria, particularly following a significant shift in control after the weakening of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2023. Since that time, Israeli forces have reportedly engaged in hundreds of airstrikes targeting military and strategic sites across Syria.

In addition to the Daraa airstrikes, sources indicate that Israeli forces executed operations in the Quneitra region, hitting the 90th Brigade and destroying armored units along with weapons caches.

This series of military actions underscores a significant increase in hostilities along the Israeli-Syrian border, characterized by Israel's efforts to achieve the demilitarization of southern Syria, an area adjacent to its border.

Israel maintains control over a buffer zone within Syrian territory and has systematically targeted military installations throughout the country since the Assad regime's decline in power.

These developments reflect ongoing regional tensions and Israel's strategic military objectives in relation to Syria.
