Israeli Military Operations Intensify in Jenin and Hebron Amid Rising Tensions

Ground incursions and settler activities reported in West Bank, leading to injuries and arrests.
On Sunday evening, Israeli military tanks entered the town of Burqin west of Jenin, reportedly firing indiscriminately at vehicles and residents.

This operation follows a pattern of military activities in the Jenin refugee camp, where Israeli forces have increased their presence over recent weeks.

Witnesses reported hearing gunfire during the incursion, and videos circulating on social media captured the moment, showing the tanks generating large clouds of smoke.

In Hebron, Israeli soldiers allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old Palestinian man, Ibrahim Sabarneh, during his arrest from the town of Beit Ummar, located north of Hebron city in the southern occupied West Bank.

Footage shared by local news outlets showed Israeli soldiers striking the restrained man and forcibly placing him into a military vehicle.

Additionally, the Palestinian Ministry of Health condemned the incursion of Israeli forces into the premises of Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron, including the seizure of security camera equipment.

Reports indicate that several Palestinians sustained injuries and contusions during an attack by Israeli settlers on the Palestinian communities of Masafer Yatta, located to the south of Hebron.

In a separate incident, settlers reportedly besieged a mosque in Khirbet Tana, near Nablus, during the evening prayers.

This event reflects ongoing tensions in the area, which have escalated amid a wider security crisis in the West Bank.

Since late February, military operations have surged in the Jenin camp, marking the first major military operation of this scale since 2002, with an increase in raids across Palestinian towns in the area continuing over the past 50 days.

During this period, confrontations have been reported involving children throwing stones at tanks.

Since the onset of heightened military actions in response to the conflict in Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers have increased their activities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

According to official Palestinian statistics, close to 930 Palestinians have lost their lives, approximately 7,000 have been wounded, and around 14,500 have been arrested since the escalation began in October 2023. Furthermore, the military operations in Gaza have reportedly resulted in over 160,000 casualties, predominantly affecting women and children, with thousands more missing.
