Jordanian Hospitals Treat Sick Children Evacuated from Gaza
The Jordanian Armed Forces have evacuated a group of 20 sick children, along with their family members, from the Gaza Strip to receive medical treatment in Jordan.
The Jordanian Armed Forces recently evacuated a total of 20 sick children and their accompanying 40 family members from the Gaza Strip.
These individuals were transported to Jordan to receive necessary medical treatment at local hospitals.
Among these children are two who suffer from heart conditions and blood disorders, admitted to Jordan University Hospital as reported by Petra News Agency on Tuesday.
Dr. Nader Al-Bsoul, director general of the hospital, confirmed that since last August, they have treated approximately 57 children from Gaza.
This evacuation effort stems from a program initiated by Jordan in March of the previous year to assist around 2,000 Palestinian children in need of medical care, coordinated with the Jordanian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
In coordination with these efforts, medical teams associated with the Jordanian military operate two field hospitals within the Palestinian coastal territory, located in southern Gaza and northern Gaza City.
Jordan has been proactive in providing humanitarian aid and food supplies to Palestinians in Gaza since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began in October 2023.
Although a US-sponsored ceasefire took effect in October, resulting in over 800 deaths due to ongoing Israeli attacks on the territory, the situation remains tense.
The evacuation of these children underscores Jordan's commitment to aiding those in need within the region.
