Nextpower Arabia Wins Contract to Supply 2.25 GW of Smart Solar Trackers for Saudi Arabia’s Bisha Solar Complex

Nextpower Arabia Wins Contract to Supply 2.25 GW of Smart Solar Trackers for Saudi Arabia’s Bisha Solar Complex

Newly formed joint venture to deliver advanced tracking systems for one of the Kingdom’s largest renewable energy projects, bolstering local manufacturing and clean energy capacity
Nextpower Arabia, a recently established joint venture between global solar technology provider Nextpower and Saudi energy conglomerate Abunayyan Holding, has been awarded a major contract to supply 2.25 gigawatts of smart solar tracking systems for the Bisha Solar project in Saudi Arabia’s Asir Province.

This marks the first substantial project execution by the combined entity since its incorporation, underscoring the Kingdom’s accelerating deployment of utility-scale renewable energy infrastructure under the National Renewable Energy Program administered by the Ministry of Energy.

The Bisha Solar project, developed by a consortium led by ACWA Power and procured by the Saudi Power Procurement Company, represents the largest plant awarded in Wave 6 of the renewable energy procurement process.

The tracking systems to be delivered are part of Nextpower’s NX Horizon platform, which has been deployed across hundreds of gigawatts of projects globally and is designed to optimise energy yield through intelligent orientation of solar panels throughout the day.

Localised sales, production, logistics and supply chain operations established by Nextpower Arabia will support the delivery, enhancing efficiency and alignment with Saudi Arabia’s clean energy goals.

The contract comes as Nextpower Arabia advances construction of a 42,000-square-metre manufacturing facility in Jeddah, expected to begin operations in the second quarter of 2026 and achieve an annual production capacity of up to 12 gigawatts of tracking systems, yield management solutions and control technologies.

The facility is poised to create significant local employment, strengthen domestic industrial capabilities and reduce reliance on imported components, aligning with the Kingdom’s economic diversification ambitions under Vision 2030.

Leaders from Larsen & Toubro, the engineering and construction partner for the Bisha project, expressed strong confidence in Nextpower Arabia’s ability to deliver advanced utility-grade solutions that will support high performance and cost-effective clean energy generation throughout the lifecycle of the solar complex.

Nextpower’s founder and CEO highlighted the strategic importance of the Middle East and North Africa region to the company’s growth plans and the deepening collaboration with ACWA Power and regional partners.

Nextpower Arabia’s contribution to the Bisha Solar project reinforces Saudi Arabia’s expanding renewable energy portfolio, which forms a crucial part of the nation’s efforts to decarbonise its electricity system and attract international and domestic investment in clean technologies.
