Israeli Forces Kill Two Palestinian Children Amid Ongoing West Bank Operations

Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Tulkarm characterized as a political show by Hamas as violence escalates in the region.
Israeli military actions in the West Bank have resulted in the deaths of two Palestinian children on Friday, highlighting the continuing violence in the region.

A 13-year-old boy was killed by Israeli fire in Hebron, while earlier in the day, a 13-year-old girl named Rimas Omar Amouri was reported dead in the Jenin camp due to Israeli military actions, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the Tulkarm refugee camp, which Hamas has described as a 'provocative step' aimed at diverting attention from his government's failures against Palestinian resistance.

Hamas accused Netanyahu of intending to showcase political and military strength through his visit, asserting that it would not intimidate the Palestinian people or deter their commitment to resistance.

During his visit, Netanyahu toured a Palestinian home in Tulkarm after similar incursions by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Israeli media reported that Netanyahu announced a series of upcoming military operations in the West Bank, intending to intensify Israeli military presence in response to recent bombings in central Israel.

He stated, "We will destroy entire streets and eliminate armed militants," indicating a commitment to targeting the infrastructure of armed Palestinian groups to prevent further attacks.

The recent attacks in Israel included explosions targeting buses in the Tel Aviv area, which have not been immediately claimed by any Palestinian group.

Reports suggest that Israeli security forces detained two individuals suspected of involvement in these incidents, with additional reports indicating that Israeli security services apprehended three suspects believed to have assisted in placing explosive devices in the buses.

In the broader context, Israeli military operations in the northern West Bank, especially in Jenin and Tulkarm, have escalated over the past two months, resulting in significant casualties.

Palestinian health officials indicate that since January 21, 2023, at least 61 Palestinians have been killed in these conflicts, alongside thousands affected by the violence, including displacement and destruction of property.

Moreover, Israeli and settler violence in the West Bank has intensified, with substantial impacts reported in East Jerusalem since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023. According to official Palestinian statistics, the ongoing conflict has resulted in at least 922 Palestinian deaths and approximately 7,000 injuries, with around 14,500 arrests made by Israeli authorities during this period.

The conflict has garnered international attention, with numerous reports of significant casualties and humanitarian concerns amid multiple military actions in the region.
