Renewed Tensions in Gaza as Hamas Prepares for Potential Warfare

Hamas expresses concern over Israeli actions and considers scenarios amid stalled negotiations.
Concerns regarding the resurgence of conflict have escalated in the Gaza Strip, with Hamas reportedly apprehensive about potential Israeli operations targeting its leaders and activists.

Recent political and security developments suggest a possible breakdown of the second phase of negotiations, leading to renewed hostilities.

Hamas's decision to suspend the delivery of a sixth group of Israeli hostages was anticipated, as previous sources within the movement indicated this could happen due to the Israeli government’s failure to fulfill ceasefire conditions.

These conditions included humanitarian protocols for providing tents, mobile homes, and heavy equipment for debris removal, alongside ongoing violations.

According to field reports, Hamas's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, has issued directives to its leadership to cease the use of mobile phones, a practice that had resumed during the ceasefire period.

This directive aims to ensure operational security and prevent detection amidst evolving political and military developments.

The suspension of hostage deliveries has motivated several leaders to enhance their personal security.

This decision has emerged from fears that Israeli forces may launch sudden assassination operations, particularly with renewed reconnaissance drone activity observed in various parts of Gaza.

Such drone operations contravene ceasefire terms, which specify restrictions on their use.

Recent discoveries by Hamas security services of sophisticated surveillance technology hidden in rubble and governmental buildings have raised concerns about Israeli intelligence capabilities.

These devices reportedly included cameras and listening equipment linked to Israeli military units, suggesting they were employed to identify and track specific resistance leaders and their activities.

Hamas officials have communicated to families of deceased fighters that advanced technological means contributed to their detection and subsequent killings, despite these individuals not carrying communication devices or other prohibited items.

In light of Israel's clear threats to resume fighting should political orders arise, the Gaza Strip faces the potential for renewed military confrontation.

Palestinian factions have indicated an increased likelihood of Israel pursuing a different military strategy, potentially targeting vehicles involved in military displays and prominent activists.

Moreover, strategic scenarios considered by Palestinian resistance groups suggest that Israeli forces might attempt to re-divide Gaza through the reoccupation of specific areas and the establishment of buffer zones.

Resistance movements have reactivated their monitoring and preparedness measures to confront any potential incursions by Israeli forces.

As negotiations stall and tensions mount, the prospect of renewed hostilities in Gaza remains a significant concern within the region.
