Israeli Forces Continue Military Operations in West Bank Amid Rising Tensions
Recent operations have led to multiple arrests, civilian casualties, and ongoing confrontations across various cities.
Israeli military operations continue across the West Bank, marked by the use of live ammunition and tear gas, as well as increased incidents of violence and arrests.
The operations, ongoing for 52 consecutive days, are particularly focused in the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, where home demolitions have led to the displacement of families.
Additional military reinforcements have been deployed in Jenin through the Jalameh checkpoint, where soldiers have been observed firing illumination flares into the Jenin camp.
Local sources report that Israeli forces have arrested a young man, Muhammad Khaled Hweel, near the town of Ya'bad and engaged in violent encounters with two children, during which their grandmother was reportedly killed before their eyes.
The military operations are also impacting nearby areas, including Tulkarem, where infrastructure is being targeted, and protests have emerged against forced displacement in the Nur Shams and Tulkarem camps.
In Nablus, confrontations between Israeli forces and Palestinians have intensified, coinciding with the presence of extremist settlers at Joseph's Tomb.
The Israeli military has executed incursions into various neighborhoods, including Beit Furik, where clashes erupted, resulting in the arrest of four children and reported beatings.
During the ongoing restrictions imposed by Israeli forces, many Palestinians have resorted to breaking their fast at the Awarta checkpoint southeast of Nablus due to travel difficulties.
In Bethlehem, particularly in the town of Husan, protests erupted, leading to the injury of six individuals from tear gas inhalation as the military continues its operations.
Israeli forces have also stormed the town of Bruqin in the Salfit area, raiding homes and confiscating surveillance camera footage while arresting two brothers, Ala and Hussein Ahmad Rizq Allah, from the village of Farqa.
In southern West Bank, military actions have included arrests in the city of Hebron and nearby areas such as Khellet ad-Dab' and the al-Aroub camp, where military operations have seen notable arrests of Hamas officials and former prisoners.
Amid these tensions, Israeli forces entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the evening prayers of Ramadan, seizing banners intended for distribution of Iftar meals to attendees.
Despite these incursions, approximately 100,000 worshipers were reported to have participated in the evening prayers at the mosque.
Recent reports indicate that Israeli military and settler violence against Palestinians has surged, with documented incidents including 1,475 attacks from the Israeli military and 230 from settlers in February 2025 alone.
Official Palestinian statistics indicate that since the escalation of military operations, particularly following the recent hostilities in Gaza, approximately 934 Palestinians have lost their lives, with injuries exceeding 7,000 and over 15,600 arrests made.
