Houthis Announce Strikes on Israeli Sites and US Aircraft Carrier

Tensions Escalate with Bold Military Actions Targeting Israel and US Assets in the Red Sea
On Friday, the Houthi movement, formally known as Ansar Allah, declared the execution of four military operations, with three aimed at targets within Israel and the fourth targeting a U.S. aircraft carrier in the northern Red Sea.

Yahya Saree, the military spokesperson for the Houthis, addressed a large crowd in al-Sabeen Square in the capital, Sanaa, detailing the operations.

Saree outlined that the first operation targeted significant 'enemy Israeli' sites in the area known as Umm Al-Rashrash in southern occupied Palestine using four cruise missiles, claiming the mission was successfully executed.

In addition, the Houthi drone force carried out two more operations: the first involving three drones on targets in the occupied city of Jaffa and the second with a drone hitting a critical location in the occupied city of Ashkelon, both reportedly achieving their objectives.

Simultaneously, the Houthis' naval forces launched a fourth operation against the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Truman in the northern Red Sea using multiple drones, marking the seventh such attack since the carrier’s arrival in the area roughly a month ago.

Saree emphasized the Houthis' readiness to respond to any potential escalation by Israeli or American forces in Yemen, pledging to closely monitor developments in Gaza.

He warned of appropriate escalatory actions should there be any breaches of agreements or increased aggression against Palestinians in Gaza.

The spokesman affirmed their unwavering support for Palestine until full liberation from Israeli occupation.

These announcements coincided with significant demonstrations held in Sanaa under the theme 'With Gaza, Steadfastness and Victory,' reflecting the group's longstanding opposition to Israel and alignment with Palestinian causes.

The Houthis also reported earlier on Friday that the United States had conducted five airstrikes in Yemen's northern Amran province, although specific details regarding casualties or damages from these airstrikes remained undisclosed.

Since November 2023, the Houthis have increased aggressive actions against Israeli commercial vessels or those associated with Israel in the Red Sea, employing missiles and drones against various targets in Israel.

This has prompted retaliatory airstrikes from Washington and London on Houthi positions in Yemen since early 2024. In response, the Houthis have declared all American and British ships as legitimate military targets and have vowed to extend their operations to vessels navigating the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean or any region accessible to their weaponry.
