Saudi Arabia Begins Second Consecutive Term as Head of ARABOSAI (2025–2028)
General Court of Audit retains chairmanship of the Arab audit body, set to host 15th General Assembly in Riyadh
Saudi Arabia has commenced its second consecutive term as chair of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), extending its leadership through 2028. The decision was unanimously approved by ARABOSAI’s General Assembly, granting the kingdom, represented by the General Court of Audit of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (GCA), renewed mandate.
The kingdom will also host ARABOSAI’s 15th General Assembly later this year in Riyadh.
Under the stewardship of GCA President Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari, Saudi Arabia becomes the first member in ARABOSAI’s near half-century history to hold back-to-back chairmanships since the organisation’s founding in 1976. In announcing the reappointment, Alangari described the renewal as a reflection of “the unwavering support of the Saudi wise leadership” and a recognition of the kingdom’s elevated standing in regional and international audit forums.
The extended tenure positions the GCA to lead key auditing-governance initiatives across the Arab world, including efforts to enhance cooperation, share best practices in public-sector oversight and promote efficient use of public resources.
