Casualties Rise to 51 in Gaza Amid Intensified Israeli Strikes

Health officials report increasing civilian casualties as conflict escalates in the region.
Health officials in the Gaza Strip reported that at least 51 Palestinians have been killed since dawn on June 9, 2025, due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes across various areas in the enclave.

Among the deceased, 14 were reported near assistance centers in Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip.

Additionally, over 30 individuals have sustained injuries following the firing of live ammunition and tear gas canisters by Israeli forces at gatherings of citizens near aid centers in southern Rafah.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that 47 bodies and 388 wounded have been admitted to hospitals over the past 24 hours.

Since the beginning of hostilities on October 7, 2023, the death toll has reportedly exceeded 54,927, with over 226,600 injured.

In a separate incident, Israeli artillery struck an area near the al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, resulting in casualties that included a woman and a child.

Meanwhile, in the northern part of the enclave, the Palestinian Red Crescent teams reported fatalities and injuries from a barrage that targeted the old Gaza Street in Jabalia.

Medical sources stated that seven were killed and many others injured, predominantly children, when an unmanned aerial vehicle deployed by Israel targeted tents sheltering displaced persons in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis.

The Israeli military has called for civilians in northern and central Gaza to evacuate to designated safe zones.

Spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued warnings via social media, advising residents in areas like Jabalia and other neighborhoods to leave due to ongoing military operations.

In another development, the International Committee of the Red Cross has expressed alarm over the impending collapse of Gaza's healthcare system, exacerbated by a sharp increase in casualties and the ongoing bombardment of critical medical facilities.

They warned that the rapidly increasing numbers of injured individuals have overwhelmed medical personnel, which has led to significant strain on healthcare services.

Furthermore, humanitarian efforts have faced severe criticism as reports indicate a rising number of casualties linked to the so-called humanitarian assistance program that operates under U.S. and Israeli parameters.

Initial findings suggest that many civilians are being shot while attempting to access these limited aid distributions.

Recent data from the Gaza government media office indicates that a total of 130 Palestinians have died due to the aid distribution initiatives since the end of May, further complicating the region's dire humanitarian conditions.

Amidst this turmoil, protests in France are also emerging, with mothers advocating for government action against Israeli policies, highlighting the substantial number of children casualties since the escalation began last year.
