Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Tuesday left 24 people wounded, including 20 in the town of Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa and four in the neighboring town of Zawtar, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

The strikes, which occurred despite a ceasefire in place for more than six weeks, included a missile attack by an Israeli drone targeting a vegetable truck in Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa and another strike on the Zawtar-Nabatiyeh road.

The town lies just 10 kilometers north of the Litani River and close to the Israeli border.

Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attacks as a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and a breach of the ceasefire agreement, urging US Major General Jasper Jeffers, head of the ceasefire monitoring committee, to take firm action.

Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee confirmed the strikes, stating that they were aimed at Hezbollah vehicles transferring weapons in southern Lebanon.

He emphasized Israel's determination to act against any threats to its security, in line with the ceasefire arrangement that calls for Hezbollah to withdraw its forces north of the Litani River and dismantle military infrastructure south of it.
